Solark nodded, the ghost of a flinch slashing on his face. His leg was mauled hideously, as Solark observed in a quick glance. Its healing would require time and patience. Those were in short supply. "Yes, yes, of course I've tried to ally with the horses. But my efforts are always belied by the virtuous Blackhoof. She wants nothing but peace, and will not support my plan... my plan to crush the wolves and end their reign before it peaks." Solark rotated his head slowly to face the shadowed woods, as if he were speaking to Blackhoof herself. "If you ask me, her foresight is vapid and blind. Her lack of pliability may be her undoing rather than her salvation, as I'm sure she suspects." Solark shifted in discomfort, drying puddles of blood drying into a stick film around his limbs and belly.

The sharp and metallic scent of blood was soon wafting in the air, and she could hear wings rustle above. Ravens and crows neared Solark, their beady amber eyes looking down at the two deer curiously, hopefully the one could be their meal. Kijani reared into her hind legs, legs slashing upwards but none landed a blow. A few of the younger birds took to the shadows, the elders and the brave keeping on their perches. Kijani listened to Solark's words, black eyes watching him turn away from her and look to the depths of the forest.
Kijani kept herself from looking, eyes grazing over the wound and quickly returning to the back of Solark's head. A frown creased her muzzle at the mention of the seemingly cowardly leader of the horses. "Does she not know that war is all that decides whose left? And those that refuse to particapate might as well be on the losing side," the deer stated sternly, her once composed shell cracking. She now looked to the ground, a blaze of anger showing in the depths of her eyes. But it died as quickly as it started, a shudder running through her as she watched the blood puddle on the ground.
"Where is that deer?"
She inquired with a stamp of her hoof, looking about the bushes for the medical deer.

Blackhoof's ideas are noble enough. She just fails to leave room for reason-" At that moment Luna came through the brush, jaws crammed with various roots, herbs, and leaves. Solark was cut off, and he looked a tad put off. There was nothing Solark enjoyed more than a good rant on military strategies. Luna plopped her load down by Solark's side. Her legs were coated with caking mud, as if she had waded through a marsh. "Geez Solark, you must taste pretty good. That wolf wanted to eat your leg, and eat it right then. He sure did a good job.." Solark gritted his teeth as Luna prodded his bum leg. "Brilliant deduction, Luna" The doe suddenly raised her head and looked a Kijani. "Thank you... for everything" Her eyes were round and dark and soft and full of gratitude. She might be chafed raw by her brother and writhe about when he neared, but he was her brother. Solark just sat quietly observing the forest, quite humiliated in his current lack of omnipotent characteristics.

Kijani was preparing for a battle stragedy debate with Solark, to which she did not protest. She rather enjoyed such conversations, they brought light to shine on the area she was quite dull at. It was difficult to compete in fighting with so little to protect and attack with. Black eyes quickly shifted to Luna as she burst through the foilage, body tensed and prepared to attack incase it was another predetor wishing for more than just a nibble. Light brown body shifted self conciously as the doe's large eyes fixed on her, Kijani's eyes on the ground. A challenging little smile played on her muzzle. "It would've been a bad impression if I just left the leader to die," she said softly, a joke if their had ever been one. Her black eyes looked to Solark, smile growing a bit bigger when she saw how uncomfortable he was to be so helpless. She lifted her head and looked to Luna and her herbs alike, lips parting to speak, but then closing again. "Should I return to the other deer while you perform your duties?" Kijani questioned, wondering if Luna would rather not have a unknown newcomer breathing over her shoulder as she worked.

Luna smiled at Kijani's jest, already fond of the doe, but Solark's face remained expressionless. "Your valor and unblinking act will be remembered. I can see that you will be a great benefit in our clash with the blasphemous, sniveling organisms that honor themselves with the title of "wolf"." His rant was given with icy black eyes; Luna watched him with ears drawn back, clearly alarmed. This little tussle has done Solark more harm than is physically apparent... She thought, looking over to Kijani and responding to her question. "Oh no need. You probably wouldn't be able to find Waterfall Clearing anyways. You'll do the camp much more good in staying here, trust me." Picking up a leafy tendril, she ground up its bitter stem quickly, and then proceeded to slather it on Solark's gruesome leg. He didn't flinch, but shot Luna a venomous glance that registered unwanted pain. "Look, you want me to just leave it as it is? You won't exactly be a doe magnet. Especially if it becomes infected and you end up as "Ole Three-Legs" She answered curtly, sniffing at the edges of the wound as Solark remained unspeaking, resigned to her prodding. After a few moments, she raised her head, sighing. "Solark, I can give you herbs to ease the bleeding, and halt the infection, but I'm no miracle worker. That wolf bit you to the bone. I don't know what will come of this." She looked Solark in the eye. "No use dwelling on the uncontrollable" He replied, even and set. "Let's catch or breath and then return to the others. I'm sure they worked themselves into a frenzy." Luna spoke quietly.

A flash of a sour look bobbed on the surface of Kijani's face at Luna's rather blunt words towards her. The doe bet that she could find the clearing just fine, but the look quickly retreated into a calm but still icy expression. She looked on the procedure, curiousity lurking in the depths of her eyes. Though she knew she had no knack in the medical career, it was still interesting to see how expertly they were able to sift through herbs and plants to find something that would help. Her black eyes also wavered to the deers themselves, Solark's noble face still showing irritation, at his state and his sister. Kijani couldn't help but give a lopsided smile as Luna replied, and Solark's glares ceased.
Ears tilted back in sympathy as she listened to the leader's outlook, which wasn't clear. But, like always, Solark replied with a long drawn and complicated reply. Okay, it wasn't that long, but Kijani knew that she could never have the same grace in communication like he did. There was only a soft nod in reply to the doe's soft words, black eyes shifting to Solark to see if he was about to rise.

Luna took a step away from Solark, her limbs folding and bending as nimbly as those of a spider. She gave him a quick once-over. "You're good. Except for your mauled leg of course. Try to stand." She instructed, her eyes never leaving the deformed hind of Solark. Turning to look at his inconvenience, he thrust up wards and put all his weight on his front legs, soon hopping up to three. He gingery touched at the dusty earth with his marred cloven hoof. At the impact he flinched. "It would appear that walking on this bum leg will lead to no fruitful result" He spoke curtly, bitter sarcasm in his eyes. Luna sighed. "Alrighty then. Kijani, if you don't mind." Luna moved to Solark's side, implying that Kijani should work at the other. "Do not lead yourselves to believe that because my hind leg is slightly incapacitated that my body is completely inept. I still have antlers with which to gouge." Luna just looked over Solark and winked at Kijani.

It was all Kijani could do from flinching along with him. She studied it warily, but her view was cut off as Solark shifted, his mouth moving as well. Kijani was quick to suck back her sigh as Luna released her, not wanting too much similarities to be drawn between them. Black eyes looked to the depths of them, seeing a dimmer but just a fierce flame of anger towards his current state. It seemed like everything was going to annoy him this night, even until he was healed. A visage of confusion stretched across her face as she heard Luna mention her name, startled into positioning herself at Solark's side. A small little smile was already on her lips as Solark spoke, her eyes looking to Luna and grin widening as the wink was performed. "Even if your antlers were torn off, it seems easy enough to just fight with your words," Kijani told, well, more of drawled. But the humor in it was good natured.

Luna smiled, Solark merely nodded curtly, seeming not to get the jest. Luna shook her head smiling, suddenly very glad she had the company. It took every nuance of her strength to deal with Solark when he was in good health; she didn't know what she would do if Kijani wasn't here to lighten the air. "Let's proceed, then" Luna suggested, nudging Solark. Solark marched forward solemnly, like a soldier marching into battle. Well, it was more of a hobble than a march, but don't tell Solark that. And so, the odd group inched into the forest, shadows licking at their hides. "Wait" Solark commanded, stopping abruptly. "When we meet up with the others, my condition will not be exaggerated. What I mean to say, is that I want today's affairs downplayed. I realize that if our fellow camp-mates understand that my leg is in such a condition as it is their fidelity may falter." Luna took a moment to process. "Ok, so you want us to shut up and pretend everything is fine and dandy?" Solark starred at her for a moment. "Precisely." Luna rolled her eyes and gave him a shove. They were on their way again." (((ooc: I think we should probably wrap up this post ^_~)))

Kijani hovered at his side, just about to jump onto the train of thoughts when her leap was destroyed by Solark's sudden order. She had made a step forward before she stopped, glancing back to him questioningly and a bit irritated. Like Luna, it took her a minute to understand excatly what he wanted. The doe had a feeling that she was going to have to get used to his complicated sentences, or hate that part about him and do all that she could to change him. A few plans leaped down her throat to be spewed back out later, but not quite yet. Kijani let them pass her, narrowed black eyes piercing the back of Solark's head in hopes she could somehow pass her thoughts to him, however, the ever quiet murmur that she said could do quite well. "Lies weave a sticky web..."
She bounded after them, paying no mind to the shadows that wrapped around her nor how her hairs gleamed so brightly in the sun. Thoughts were currently on the future, never the present, never the past.
