Luna looked upon the spindly colt with hushed compassion. "It is hard to come to terms with ourselves for the first time. You have a unique perspective. You have the opportunity to look upon yourself as one might look in a mirror. You see, we have all grown up knowing what we were, living with ourselves, and never doubting our characters. You on the other hand, have lived as many different creatures not yourself. You now have the chance you discover yourself as quickly or slowly as you please. And to start with, you are a colt. Someday to grow into a stallion. Isn't it wonderful?" At this point, Luna's eyes were aflame with virtuous thoughts and profound contemplation. This foal's situation would mean more to him than he could ever know. Of course, all of this future started with tomorrow. Luna was pretty sure Solark would order a scouting patrol to escort Rogue to Horses' Camp. Luna decided then and there that should be on the patrol.

Rogue's orbs flickered for a moment as the thoughts of this 'stallion' grew upon his mind. A tall, hansome figure that stood high upon a mountain top, plumages flowing upon the wind. Though this figure stood shrouded in the shadows with his mighty elegance. Rogue shook his crania as thoughts of old that had long deserted him came creeping back. For that figure within his minds eye was his father. The moment Rogue had began to open his eyes, the first and last time he had 'seen' his father. Tears began to swell within his pools, but were blinked away before any could fall upon his face, [glow=black,2,300]"Yeah, it'll be great."[/glow] He pools stayed fixed upon the soft earth, all notions of sleep now lost to him.

Luna's eyed immediately enlightened her mind on the fact that she had upset Rogue. "What is it, Rogue?" Inching closer, she saw his eyes swimming with stubborn tears. Conjured by unknown demons. It is in the pinnacle of distress where we often find ourselves... Luna thought solemnly. She felt eyes burning into her back. Upon closer inspection, she found various deer peering curiously their war. Luna just glared at them, narrowing her night's-sky eyes. Her leaf-shaped, cloven hooves were folded under her, supporting her body. She felt herself getting attached to this little foundling. That was not good. Solark would certainly not approve.

The shadowy figure left his mind as he looked back to Luna. She seemed concerned to him so his mind figured he would play fine. Though his lips seemed to have others thoughts upon the subject, [glow=black,2,300]"It's...[/glow] Every inch of his mind and soul told him to say nothing, [glow=black,2,300]...just that I think I saw my father.[/glow] Blunt teeth pressed together as he began to muse over the thought once more.

(((ooc: We all have days like that. Take the day I got back from staying up 'till 3 AM at your place... my brain was blank, yawning chasm with moths flying around inside of it. My posts absolutely sucked. You should read some for amusement. Feel better? ^-^))) Luna stirred. A recollection of a parent was a good thing. It meant his ties to his own kind had not been completely severed, even if it were dangling by a thread. But what had he said? He thought that he had seen his father? That didn't make any sense. Furtively, Luna twitched her nose, smelling for any other horses in the area. There was nothing on the breeze but a myriad of deer scents, and one bemused colt scent. Luna looked at Rogue, concerned. "Rogue, what do you mean, 'you saw your father?' Are you suffering from delusions? Do you have a fever?" The medicine deer in Luna kicked in, and she rose to her hooves. Prodding Rogue with her nose, she assured herself that he was in no perilous physical condition. "You feel alright" She muttered. Delusions?

Rogue looked up at Luna and couldn't help but smile upon her worry. It was not a mocking smile the had become plastered on his features, but one of joy and gratitude. The young appy shook his crania saying no upon all questions asked by the deer, [glow=red,2,300]"I mean I saw him in my mind. Well, sort of..."[/glow] The colt looked back to the ground for a moment, trying to gather words that would make sense. Though since he had only just found out he had then it would probably come out wrong, [glow=red,2,300]"I saw him on the day that I first opened my eyes. Though that wasn't the day I was born. The alpha... I mean stallion said I would probably be blind. At the time I didn't know any meaning of the word. After that tings became a whirlwind for me. All I remember is being moved into a near by desert. THe pack the started screaming something about a mountain lion.[/glow] His muzzle shook, trying hard to remember the rest of the story, [glow=red,2,300]"That's when I caught my first glimmers of light. Though I only saw one life form before me and that was a tall shadowy figure that stood watching. But before I could see clearly he was gone...[/glow] The appy's nares flaired slightly as the prospects of his past came slowly back to him, [glow=red,2,300]"That's who I saw; the first and last image of my dad."[/glow] Rogue looked down upon the ground as he tried to figure out another peice to the large puzzle of his past. [glow=red,2,300]"Funny though. I haven't thought about that in a long time..."[/glow]

Luna nuzzled him in a manner she hoped came across comfortingly. "Well it's important. It's a part of your history. It's a part of connecting yourself to horses again." She reminded him gently Desert? There aren't any deserts anywhere near This Side. This kid must have come from a long way away Luna had never even seen a desert let alone trudged through its sandy depths. Still, it was the sort of things fawns were taught when they were young; the variations of land. "When did you leave your family, Rogue? And where did you used to live?"

Rogue shook his head slightly and thougths swelled within his mind. It was if that part of his mind had been cleared, and now it could no longer recall anything. This seemed to happen quite often with him. Remembering everything one moment then it disappearing into a void the next, [glow=red,2,300]"I don't know. I couldn't see so I can't describe it to you, but I remember everything being soft. There was a nice breeze that always came about when the sun reached its highest point. I only knew when it was mid-day because of the sun's heat...[/glow] His ears swiviled then all thoughts finally flushed from his brain, [glow=red,2,300]"I wish I could tell you more, but my thoughts just left me."[/glow] Orbs faced the ground as he concentrated with all his might upon the past, but all that came to mind was darkness. [glow=red,2,300]"Sorry."[/glow] This time he didn't look back up he kept his face to the ground, disappointed.
